Pre-completion Testing
ACCON UK are registered with the ANC to carry out sound insulation testing of new build or newly converted properties to determine compliance with Approved Document E of the Building Regulations.
In July 2003 the new Approved Document E of the Building Regulations came into force which required all new build dwellings and building conversions to be built with a minimum standard of sound insulation. The regulations state that separating party walls and floors must meet both Airborne (speech, television sound, etc.) and Impact (footstep noise, etc) Sound Insulation standards. The regulations apply to all houses, flats, student residences, care homes and hotels.
The Building Control Department of the Local Authority may ask builders or property developers to carry out Sound Insulation Testing in order to confirm compliance with these latest standards.
